Washed Up On Maui Charm Necklace
This is IT for me!
I haven’t taken my personal one off since I made it.
This is a culmination of my dreams, memories & expression all coming from the deepest love & respect for Hawaii & natures ability to humble me DAILY!!!!!
This is a one of a kind piece!
I will continue making different variations & you may request combos as well as use your own shells. Cost will vary depending.
I only want to do justice to the beauty that is these shells!
There is an Abbreviated Cone shell front and center. These are endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. It only felt right this be on this piece. There is a colorful, sand filled cowrie shell & a teal piece of sea glass. Because ocean conservation is Vital! Its an honor to be here, live here & thrive here. It is our responsibly to clean our beaches. It’s a bonus that cleaning them means gorgeous sea glass with rich histories & stories. This tiny piece of glass started as trash, took a long multiple decade long journey being tumbled, smoothed & frosted to what we see today. What is more humbling than traveling through the ocean starting out as trash & coming out so beautiful that you’re sought after!
Pearls aren’t found on Hawaii, but they do play a role in the history. I am still learning a lot about this, but the simplest explanation is because of trade & travel amongst surrounding islands you see Tahitian pearls etc in early Hawaiian history. I have also heard its possible Hawaii had pearls at one time, but I haven’t confirmed this information :)
If you’re reading this & you know more, I would love to listen learn and feature you and the info on the page so our customers can also learn with me :)
