FAQs
What is sea glass?
Formed by waves, recycled by the sea, sea glass is a product of both Mother Nature and her inhabitants. Bottles, jars and glass carelessly discarded are tumbled by the ocean to form these colorful gems of the shore. Sea glass takes 20 to 40 years, and sometimes as much as 100 years, to acquire its characteristic texture and shape.
What is gold fill and rose gold fill in comparison to our other jewelry finishes?
Gold-filled jewelry is jewelry composed of a solid layer of gold mechanically bonded to a base of either sterling silver or some base metal through heat. The layer of gold on gold-filled items is 5 to 10 times thicker than that produced by regular gold plating. This means gold and rose gold fill will not chip or tarnish like a plated or vermeil would. We also have a 14k gold option which is a more durable gold used in most engagement rings and wedding bands. If you have any questions about any finishes please reach out to us!
Do we find our own shells sea glass, and other jewelry materials?
Yes, mostly. We are gifted some, but we mainly collect our own here on Maui and surrounding islands if visiting. We NEVER use any live shells in our jewelry and take pride in keeping our operation local so you can have your own piece of Maui wherever you may live.
