Keshi Tahitian Pearl Strand

$3,800.00

Keshi pearl references how the pearl grew.

Round pearls are nucleated. Meaning small beads are placed inside the oyster to suggest it grow that way.

This bead takes away opportunity to nacre to grow in that space.

Keshi pearls grow without nucleation. They grow in organic shapes and because they are not nucleated they contain 100 percent nacre. Nacre is one of the five characteristics that go into grading pearls quality.

If the nacre of a pearls is high, the color and luster will be bright and the pearl will be strong.

This strand is hand knotted using white nylon thread. Traditionally silk is used, but silk stretches over time and cannot get wet.

I use nylon because it won’t need a re-string simply from wear. It’s strong, long lasting and can get wet.

Pearls are from the water. They can also get wet.

No jewelry, especially fine jewelry, should be worn in chlorine. Chlorine will wear away most materials.

This strand is hand knotted between every single pearl. There are over 500 Keshi Tahitian Pearls. 43 inches in length and knotted as an infinity strand. One long, continuous circle of pearls.

Tahitian pearls come from Tahiti and I import mine through a local wholesale here on Maui.

Tahitian pearls are salt water pearls.

These are natural color and grade AAA. Most are 2-6mm with a batch of elongated 8-10mm placed throughout.

This piece is 46 grams in weight and took me about 10 hours of knotting to complete.

It was an honor to work with these remarkable and truly eye catching beauties. I am so excited to share this with it’s next home.
