These are rectangular shaped, Edison pearls.
Edison pearls are a fresh water pearl.
They are nucleated to grow this way, meaning something is placed within the oyster as the pearl grows to suggest it grow this shape.
Natural color, grade AAAA.
The pastel rainbows that dance on these is unreal.
They’re double drilled and hand knotted with white, nylon thread so they can get wet.
Chlorine is not advised for any jewelry. Especially fine jewelry.
Because this pearl comes from fresh water, salt water is not advised. If exposed rinse with water when can.
The clasps and findings are gold fill.
The clasp is a rectangular, filigree clasp. You pinch one side to release the clasp and pinch is again to clip it on. A play on a classic, vintage style that is beautifully and comfortably secure.
